Gratitude Post: Holy Week BeginsI am grateful for Holy Week when we retrace Jesus' final steps on Earth. An amazing journey that in one short week began as a triumphant entry and ended with His death and resurrection from the tomb.
Jesus did not turn away from the people. He continued to heal the sick and paralytic, the blind, the lepers. Rumors of Lazarus’ return from the tomb made its way amongst the crowds. Just who was this man? No doubt, this was Jesus’ big day, the disciples as well. Put yourself in their shoes as they searched for the donkey Jesus would ride into Jerusalem. Surely, this sign and Zechariah’s prophetic announcement would be enough to proclaim Jesus as the long awaited messiah. Jesus would be known as their King, and His earthly Kingdom on earth would be established. Reflecting allows us to draw upon a strength that is beyond ourselves, both natural and inspirational. All so important as we enter the holy time of Palm Sunday. John 12:13: They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting, “Hosanna!” “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Blessed is the king of Israel!” #inspire #grateful #HolyWeek #Jesusfinalsteps #Hisdeath #resurrection #healthesick #tomb #disciples #messiah #Jesus #earthlyKingdom |
